Launch Boss of the Block Cigars by Graycliff

Graycliff Cigar Co. is back this year in a smaller booth but, interestingly enough, the company brought two new cigars with them to the 2022 PCA Convention and Trade Show.

For as long as I can remember covering Graycliff, the company usually had some corner booth or one in the middle of an open area. That, along with a central display gave its booth quite a large, open-air feeling.

Graycliff 50th Anniversary

The first new cigar was also the first on a list of things that left me confused and having to do more research. It was noted as being the Graycliff 50th Anniversary cigar, which you would think at first was the anniversary of the Graycliff Cigar Company, which isn’t the case because that was founded in 1997. Second, you might think it was the founding of the Graycliff Inn, however, that was in 1844. I finally landed on the answer as 1973 was the year that Graycliff—the property, not the cigar company—was bought by Enrico and Anna Maria Garzaroli and turned into a hotel.

Boss of the Block

The next thing that confused me was not something that actually confused me at the booth, but more so once I started writing this article. The rep for the company that I spoke to introduced the Boss of the Block as one of Graycliff’s new cigars and left it at that. When I went to Google to see who the DJ was that was at the booth so I could put their name in this article, the Graycliff and P La Cangri collaboration for Boss of the Block was all over the artist’s website. Congri had more information on her website about the collaboration, including that her Cuban heritage and interest in cigars started well before she met Graycliff Cigar Company president and co-founder, Paolo Garzaroli. It was from that meeting that her knowledge about cigars convinced Garzaroli to create a cigar together, calling it Boss of the Block.
